Among the numerous application fields of PVC products, transparent products have put forward two seemingly contradictory but essential requirements for their core performance: extremely high transparency and excellent impact resistance. ACR impact modifier solves this technical problem and gives PVC material the perfect key to transparency and toughness.
PVC resin itself has poor impact resistance, especially in low-temperature environments where brittleness is significant. It must be reinforced by adding impact modifiers. However, many modifiers (such as CPE, MBS) often sacrifice the transparency of the material while achieving toughening. So Acrylic impact modifier stands out.
Acrylic impact modifier is the only type of modifier that can provide excellent toughening effect without affecting the transparency of PVC. It makes the bottles, tablets, films and other products made clear and crystal clear, with excellent visual effects.
And ACR impact modifier can significantly improve the impact resistance of PVC products, especially in low-temperature environments, greatly reducing the risk of breakage caused by drops and impacts during production, transportation, and use, and improving the reliability and service life of products.
Compared with MBS (methyl methacrylate butadiene styrene copolymer), ACR impact modifier does not contain double bonds, therefore its resistance to UV aging is excellent. This means that ACR modified PVC transparent products are more suitable for situations where they may come into contact with light, are less prone to yellowing after long-term use, and can better maintain their initial strength and transparency.
