In the production of PVC foam board, pursuing the perfect combination of low density and high strength is an eternal challenge. The achievement of this goal lies in controlling the foaming process, and its success or failure depends on a key factor - melt strength.
PVC resin has low melt strength and poor elasticity after hot melting. During the foaming process, when the foaming agent decomposes and produces gas, the melt strength is insufficient, or the gas directly escapes, resulting in uneven foam pores and even collapse and cracking.
And the melt has insufficient viscoelasticity, which cannot effectively resist the pressure caused by bubble expansion. Gas is more likely to escape from the surface or thin wall of the melt, resulting in a decrease in foaming ratio.
Our company's HPA901 is composed of high molecular weight acrylic polymer. In PVC melt, these long molecular chains can strongly entangle and interact with PVC molecular chains.
And HPA901 has a superior pore structure: it obtains an extremely fine and uniform closed cell structure, which is the basis for the board to have high specific strength.
And it can prevent gas from escaping and causing surface roughness, making the surface of the board smoother and smoother. And the uniform pore structure generated means that the stress distribution is more uniform, significantly improving the impact resistance, rigidity, and Vicat softening temperature of the board.
