ACR processing aid is a core-shell particle with acrylic ester as the main chain and rubber elasticity. At the same time, the micro zone of the core layer rubber plays an internal lubrication role, reducing the shear heat generation between the screw and the barrel wall, and providing a uniform and stable melt temperature field for subsequent foaming.
After entering the plasticization stage, the elastic core of ACR begins to exert the function of "melt strength enhancement". The shell is firmly anchored to the PVC matrix, allowing the entire melt to maintain sufficient viscoelasticity at the moment it leaves the mold, preventing foaming agent from escaping or surface collapse, thus obtaining a uniform and delicate closed cell structure.
During the solidification cooling stage, ACR continues to serve as a 'surface quality optimization agent'. The core-shell particles form a microscopic rubber buffer layer on the surface of the melt, which can smooth out the melt fracture marks at the die outlet, reduce the shark skin phenomenon, and achieve a smooth and flat appearance and good dimensional stability of the foam board.
ACR processing aids work in a progressive manner by first lubricating and dispersing, then strengthening the melt, and finally optimizing the surface, closely connecting the three major processes of plasticization, foaming, and shaping of PVC foam boards. Ultimately, they bring about an overall effect of easy extrusion, uniform foam holes, and flat surface, and are the "invisible driving force" for achieving efficient and high-quality foam board production.
